Andrew Robert Buxton Cavendish, 11th Duke of Devonshire (2 January 1920 – 3 May 2004), married Hon. After Pelham’s death, Cavendish was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Ireland in April 1755. He inherited his father’s title and became the Duke of Devonshire in December 1755. Devonshire was quite successful at negotiating with the political factions in Ireland and was widely considered to have done a good job.

Andrew Cavendish, the 11th Duke of Devonshire, was born in 1920 and passed away in 2004. His brother, who was married to Kathleen Kennedy, sister of President John F. Kennedy, died in 1944 while serving in the military. Tragically, Kathleen Kennedy also met an untimely end in a plane crash just four years later.
