Paul Burlison is still a great guitarist. Even though I no longer think that Paul Burlison played lead on all those classic rockabilly recordings, as the official Rock'n'Roll history will have it, he still - without a doubt - played on the May 7, 1956 recordings at the Pythian Temple, New York for instance.

16 de mar. de 2020 · A few guitarists got off on the sounds of damaged or malfunctioning amps, like Willie Kizart on the 1951 single Rocket 88 and Paul Burlison, who famously exploited a loose power tube on his Fender Deluxe amp to generate horn-like distortion on recordings with The Rock and Roll Trio.
