Tommy Ladnier, Tommy Ladnier, Thomas James Ladnier, 1900-39, amerikansk jazztrompetist. Ladnier voksede op i Mandeville, Louisiana og opholdt sig kun sporadisk i New Orleans, før han allerede i 1917 rejste nordpå til Chicago; her blev hans arkaiske, men følsomme bluesspil meget efterspurgt, bl.a. på plader med sangerinderne Ida Cox, Alberta Hunter, Ma Rainey og Bessie Smith 1923-27.
経歴. 本名はThomas Ladnierという。 ルイジアナ州のマンディヴィルで1900年に生まれた。10歳の頃からトランペットを吹き始め、Bunk Johnsonの教えを受けた事もあるそうだ。 1917年にシカゴに移り、1921年頃からプロのミュージシャンとしての活動を始めた。
