5 de oct. de 2022 · Pop Will Eat Itself (also known as PWEI or the Poppies) are a grebo band formed in Stourbridge, West Midlands, UK with band members from Birmingham, Coventry and the Black Country. An early version of the band formed in 1981 under the name From Eden; members included Clint Mansell, Adam Mole, Chris Fradgley, Malcolm Treece and Miles Hunt .

Beschreibung Pop Will Eat Itself, 2012. Die Gruppe nannte sich zunächst From Eden, wechselte mehrfach den Namen und schickte schließlich drei gleiche Demoaufnahmen unter verschiedenen Bandnamen an drei unterschiedliche Plattenfirmen. Für den Namen Pop will Eat Itself erhielt die Gruppe die Rückmeldung, dass zwar kein Plattenvertrag angeboten werde, aber der Bandname würde gefallen.
