He portrayed Cranky Kong in the Donkey Kong Country television series, then took over a twenty-year break from acting to work on his art.. Tager died at the age of 84 on February 28, 2019.

He got into acting in the early 90’s and has appeared in both TV and film alike, though mostly in small roles. Regardless, as the voice of Cranky Kong, he will surely be missed. May he rest in peace.
