16 de feb. de 2017 · Philip Jose Farmer began chronicling the glory days of Edgar Rice Burroughs' lost city of Opar in the early 1970s with the publication of Hadon of Ancient Opar and its sequel, Flight to Opar. Hadon was born in the (wealthy) backwater of Opar and traveled to the island capital of the Khokarsan Empire to participate in its "Great Games."
Hadon journeys to Khokarsa to compete in the games. The prize for winning is that he is entitled to marry the ruling high priestess, should she choose to accept him, and thus become high priest and king of the Khokarsa. However the king is unwilling to relinquish power and schemes to kill Hadon. Hadon fights to overthrow the corrupt monarchy.
