18 de mar. de 2016 · Not everyone may know that The Stalk Forrest Group was basically Blue Oyster Cult before they became B.O.C. All the original members of B.O.C. except for bass player Joe Bouchard are here. The band recorded an album for Elektra but it ended up never being released. In 2016 this album was finally release along with bonus demo tracks.
17 de feb. de 2007 · St. Cecilia was the Stalk-Forrest Groups only release for Electra records. It's basically the core of BOC before that band was formed. The sound is also a bit different than BOC, sort of a less intense psychedelic style with strong guitar playing by Buck Dharma throughout.
14 de may. de 2013 · Stalk-Forrest Group is also known by a few other names. Blue Oyster Cult, Soft White Underbelly or Oaxaca. These are the first known recordings made by this group for Elektra Records in the late 1960s. They were meant to be the first album by Soft White Underbelly.
For those who are unfamiliar with Stalk Forrest Group, they were basically the same musicians who would later form Blue Oyster Cult and go on to massive success in the USA. Stalk Forrest were originally called The Soft White Underbelly, and they did quite a bit of playing out in the New York area circa 1968-69.

Malheureusement, mécontent du résultat, le label casse le contrat passé avec le groupe et cet album ne sort finalement qu’en 2001 dans une double version, avec des mixages…
9 de feb. de 2007 · I bought a copy of the Stalk Forrest Group "St. Cecilia" album late last year, and it has become a source of some of my current favorite traveling music. While the recordings do not have the polish and the technical excellence that the BOC albums from "Agents of Fortune" and onward displayed, there are definite gems here.
