  1. At Horsforth School we provide high quality careers advice for all students. Students receive independent advice from various providers such as Leeds City College, vocational further education institutions, apprenticeship providers and local, national and international employers through the School’s Careers Fairs and assembly programme.

Our tutors are the first point of contact for any student’s concerns and provide practical guidance on how to balance commitment to lessons, private study, enhancement activities and relaxation, whilst monitoring their progression, attendance and behaviour. They also assist with the completion of UCAS, apprenticeship and job applications.

  4. The year group is taught in two mixed ability halves for English, Science and MFL. Students within each half are in ability sets for maths. History, Geography, Religious Studies, Computing and core PE are taught in mixed ability groups.

She is also the Year coordinator for year 7 which means when you arrive in school it’s her job to work with the form tutors and keep an eye on your progress and attitude towards your learning.

  7. 16–19 Bursary. The ‘16-19 Bursary Fund’ is in place to support those students who face financial barriers when continuing with sixth form education if their household income is below £20,000 a year. Eligible students will need to apply for the bursary each September and evidence of household income will need to be provided.
