Returning to work on ‘Made In The Dark’ after their stadium rock like existence couldn’t help but find their live sound influence the batch of new material they were recording. That said, there is no mistaking the dense, clunky percussive loops of a Hot Chip number nor the soulful charm of Taylor’s vocals.
When I first heard that the title of Hot Chip’s newest album was to be “Made In the Dark” I smiled a little, dismissing it as the kind of stupid little ironic sex joke the band usually employ. One thing’s for sure though, I definitely didn’t expect the album’s title track to be so sad, so slow, or so serious.

Hot Chip klinkt er als het volwassen broertje van de band die The Warning maakte. Maar toch, die eerste vijftien minuten, dat hadden er meer moeten zijn. Fraaie plaat, maar ook een die frustreert.
