Screenplay dialogue format. To write dialogue, start with an element called a character cue. That’s the part the actor will highlight when he’s trying to memorize his lines. Every character cue starts at 3.7 inches from the left of the page and is in all caps. Soft return to a new margin of 2.5 inches.
