Late in 1985, The Church put out another splendid album, “Heyday.” The Wikipedia article on this record notes two important changes leading up to its release. First, most of the songs became a group effort, rather than almost entirely written by Steve Kilbey. Second, Kilbey’s vocal approach changed significantly, and for the better.

30 de sept. de 2010 · Heyday (Remastered) is an excellent re-release of an excellent album. Stylistically, the album is by far the most polished and jangly of the church's discography, but still feels organic. The songs are rooted in the signature Koppes/Marty Wilson-Piper guitar interplay, with most tracks including small sections of horns, strings, or other arrangements varying from the standard rock band lineup.
