While the technical filmmaking gets better as the movies progress, the second film has the most interesting and well-developed storyline. The third actually feels the weakest story-wise; at 2 hours long, it sort of meanders to its eventual conclusion.

Films containing elements similar to cannibal films existed before the genre's inception.
