  6. Like a number of raters, I was hoping for a full return to a rock album, and was a bit deflated when I first started listening to Cage to Rattle. Stuff of Legends and White Flag probably the closest reminders of the Daughtry of old. However, after a few listens I've come to like Backbone, Deep End and Death of Me. The other tracks are OK.

It’s not even modern pop that Daughtry draw from most of the time either, rather the oversized, percussive bores that have thankfully gone out of style now, but are inexplicably trying to be revived here.
