Rupert Penry-Jones was born in London to Welsh actor Peter Penry-Jones and English actress Angela Thorne. He was educated at Dulwich College in southeast London until the age of 17, when he enrolled at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. In 1995 he appeared with his mother on television in the movie “Cold Comfort Farm,” starring Kate Beckinsale.

Rupert Penry-Jones is most well known for his work on dramas Spooks and Whitechapel. His career began in 1994 where he starred in TV movie Fatherland and film Black Beauty.
