20 de ene. de 2011 · By the 1980s, Steeleye Span had reformed but they were not nearly as prolific as they had been during their heyday. "Tempted and Tried" was released near the dawn of the 90s and demonstrates an older, wiser Steeleye, more mellow than most of its predecessors and an album that can appeal to even the more folk-rock phobic in the audience.
Barbara Dickson told the story of "The Cruel Mother" under the title "Fine Flowers in the Valley" quite a bit better than Steeleye Span and "Searching For Lambs" is verging on boring. The three songs that just manage to keep this album in the ***** bracket are "Seagull", "Shaking of The Sheets" (cheery for a song about death), and the best one on the album; "Jack Hall" which is good old ...
