Nimal was born in an agricultural family, in Nadiyam village close to Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu. After witnessing the devastating aftermath of the Gaja cyclone in his hometown at the age of 31, he made the decision to leave his job in Dubai and return to Nadiyam, dedicating himself to the betterment of his homeland.
