The first Grudge movie is fun. The Japanese versions are superior, but the first American one is a lot of fun. The rest are kinda eh all the way down to boring/bad in progressive order. If you like the style of film & story you’ll enjoy it well enough, but I don’t know anyone who’s revisited any but the first one personally.

There is no doubt that horror as a genre has the power to cross cultural boundaries. ‘The Grudge’ film series is the best case at point for this as it marked the wave of Japanese horror in American cinema with ‘Ju-On: The Grudge’, directed by Takashi Shimizu.
