Scottish singer-songwriter Annie Lennox interprets her favourite traditional festive songs in her fifth studio album 'A Christmas Cornucopia', as well as the original composition 'Universal Child'. This ten year anniversary edition features a new recording of 'Dido's Lament', and for the vibrant reboot, Lennox works with a 30-piece orchestra in London, as well as the African Children's Choir.
This album is a Christmas one only in name. The music and the message that Annie Lennox conveys to us through it is beyond Christmas. She uses the traditional Christmas songs and the way she interprets them in our days to make a very personal statement as artist, musician and human being.
Sal Cinquemani of Slant Magazine awarded the album 3.5/5 and said "Lennox seems more inspired on A Christmas Cornucopia than she has in years." John Hunt of Qatar Today magazine gave the album 9/10 and said "in particular, the vocal work and musical arrangement of 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen' are impactful to the point of being intimidating."
