L’infection par le virus de la fièvre jaune est asymptomatique pour de nombreuses personnes. Dans le cas contraire, après une incubation de 3 à 6 jours, la maladie débute typiquement avec de la fièvre, des frissons, des douleurs musculaires et des maux de tête. Elle évoque alors la grippe, la dengue ou le paludisme.
Yellow fever (YF) cause a wide spectrum of symptoms, from mild to fatal. In severe cases there may be spontaneous haemorrhage. Mortality of these clinical cases can be as high as 80%, on a par with Ebola, Marburg and other haemorrhagic viral infections.
