2 de feb. de 2023 · I’m in Austria, and what’s hidden beneath decades of underbrush is all that remains of the infamous Nazi POW camp Stalag 17B. During World War II, the ground I’m standing on was a place of horrible suffering. It was among the most notorious of all prisoner-of-war camps, detaining as many as 66,000 prisoners—4,200 being American.
Stalag 17 is essentially a prisoner or war hangout movie, as we focus on the various hijinks of one barracks in one POW camp in Germany. The narration eases us into the situation as we are informed that the reason the prisoners' plots are always discovered is due to the presence of a spy in the barracks.

24 de feb. de 2007 · Stalag 17 est aujourd’hui un peu oublié à coté des grandes réussites du cinéaste comme Assurance sur la mort, Le Poison, Sunset Boulevard, Certains l’aiment chaud ou La Garçonnière. C’est pourtant un film trépidant, amusant et au final très émouvant.
