When I bought this in '82, I had just heard the single "Something To Grab For" #47 hot 100 and #5 mainstream rock, it had that classic Cars sound, so I thought man this is gonna be one hell of a record, put it on and i'm in shock, very moody sounding and totaly downcast.

The Cars had fallen off of my radar following the strong “Panorama.”. What I’d heard from “Shake It Up” indicated that the band were being very, uh, pragmatic, about their career.
