Heartbreak Town (1996) album; Biography of Steve Azar. Steve Azar is a country musician from Greenville, Mississippi, born in 1964. He started writing songs at an early age. He attended Delta State University, graduating with a degree in business management in 1987. He actively toured in the South. In 1993, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee.
A product of the Mississippi Delta region, Steve Azar was born April 11, 1964. After moving to Nashville to pursue a career in music, he released his debut album, Heartbreak Town, in 1996. The single "Someday" was a moderate hit on the country charts, and Azar returned in 2001 with the Top Ten country smash "I Don't Have to Be Me ('Til Monday)."

His 2017 album Down at the Liquor Store featured a number of guest musicians who had previously played for B. B. King and Elvis Presley, and was credited to Steve Azar and the King’s Men. Azar has written most of his own songs, and his style draws from country, rock, and Delta blues, with his singing voice gaining frequent comparisons to John Mellencamp.
