Elton Dean (Nottingham, 28 octobre 1945 – 8 février 2006 à Londres) était un musicien britannique qui œuvrait surtout dans le jazz. Il jouait du saxophone alto, du saxello (une variante du saxophone soprano, avec une sonorité particulière) et occasionnellement du piano électrique.

In 2006 came the sad death of Elton Dean, whose place was taken by young blood Theo Travis, who has a continuing association with Progressive Bands and Artists such as Gong, Robert Fripp, David Gilmour and Steven Wilson and was thus perfectly sympathetic to the music. After a long illness Hugh Hopper sadly passed away in 2008.

17 de jun. de 2022 · Two public ceremonies will be held this weekend to honor the memory of alumnus and community leader, Elton N. Dean, Sr., who died on June 7, 2022, at the age of 72. Dean, who was the former chairman of the Alabama State University Board of Trustees, also was a longtime Chairman of the Montgomery County Commission.

The funeral will be held at noon on Saturday, June 18, at Alabama State University’s Dunn-Oliver Acadome, the university has announced. Dean was the former chairman of the ASU Board of Trustees. Dean died June 7 after a long illness.
