Blue Angel is the Strawbs first studio album in ten years and it has many highlights.The title song "Blue Angel" (first released on Cousins solo album "Two weeks last summer")is just a great song,"The Plain",the gourgeous "Morning Glory",the acoustic "Sealed with a Traitor's kiss"(from Deadlines) and the bonus track "The King"(the 1980 recording featuring Maddy Prior).
First of all it was nice to see all those former band members involved even though it detracted from a sense of continuity. It was especially good to see Blue Weaver back working with Cousins again. In 2006, the Strawbs released a four-disc boxed set called A Taste of Strawbs. The Hero and Heroine/Ghosts line-up recorded a new studio album, The Broken Hearted Bride, released in September 2008. Dave Cousins recorded a new solo album, The Boy in the Sailor Suit, with The Blue Angel Orchestra.
