In 1988, ELO drummer Bev Bevan approached Jeff Lynne wanting to do another Electric Light Orchestra album. After Lynne declined to participate, Bevan intended to continue the band without him. Lynne objected, and lawyers were soon involved.
28 de jun. de 2019 · Bevan formed ELO Part II in 1989, renaming this group The Orchestra in 2000. Similarly, Lynne re-formed ELO as Jeff Lynne's ELO with Tandy in 2014. Some consider these bands continuations of the original ELO, but others argue that each of these is a distinct band and that the original (and real) ELO existed only between 1970 and 1983.
1 de nov. de 2006 · ELO Part II was formed back in 1990 by Bev Bevan (ex-drummer) after Jeff Lynne left the band. However, Mik Kaminski's violin is still shines and Louis Clark's arrangements make possible for ELO Part II to preserve the essence and brightness of the original Electric Light Orchestra, although they do it with fewer and newer members, who are all excellent musicians though.
