5 de jun. de 2001 · Amazonより. Like The Gumball Rally (1976) before it, former stuntman Hal Needham's The Cannonball Run was inspired by the same real-life cross-country road race. If The Gumball Rally was the critical favorite, The Cannonball Run was the box-office favorite (spawning the almost-as-successful sequel, Cannonball Run II, a few years later).

Synopsis. A cross-country road race is based on an actual event, the Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, organized by Brock Yates to protest the 55 mph speed limit then in effect in the U.S. The Cannonball was named for Erwin G. "Cannonball" Baker, who in the roaring 20's rode his motorcycle across the country.

25 de ago. de 2009 · Because Cannonball Run was a huge hit, and the Big Brawl was a huge flop, it's logical that Jackie's 1st widespread introduction to America would be considered Cannonball Run. It actually was my introduction to Jackie Chan, although I didn't become fanatical about him & his movies until I rediscovered him in the mid-90's.
