5 de mar. de 2021 · Life on Mars star John Simm has confirmed that he’s “in talks” for a third series. The 50-year-old famously teamed up as Sam Tyler with Philip Glenister as DCI Gene Hunt for the iconic drama, which ended in 2007. While Glenister returned for sequel Ashes to Ashes, which ran for three seasons until 2010, John Simm hasn’t played Tyler since.

John Simm was born on 10th July 1970 in Leeds, West Yorkshire and grew up in Nelson, Lancashire. He attended Edge End High School, Nelson, Lancashire followed by Blackpool Drama College at 16 and the Drama Centre, London at 19. He lives with his wife, actress Kate Magowan, and their children Ryan (born 13th August 2001) and Molly (born February 2007).
Lancashire-raised John Simm is one of this country’s best loved and most recognisable actors. He is multi-BAFTA nominated and known for his versatility and wide array of TV roles. Most recently he can be seen starring as DSI Roy Grace, the lead detective in ITV’s recurring series ‘Grace’, which will return for a fourth series in 2024.
