Manakin-Sabot is an unincorporated community in Goochland County, Virginia. In 1699, King William III of England granted 10,000 acres of land to Marquis Olivier de la Muce , a Huguenot French aristocrat, and the Huguenot immigrant settlers formed the villages of Manakin (named for the Monocan Native Americans ) and Sabot and built a church, a school, a hospital, and a smithy.
