6. 5mo. MFC4AFoS. 91. In This Light And On This Evening feels like a misunderstood record to me. There's quite some defenders for it, but their voices never seem as loud as for the first two albums Editors put out (The Back Room in 2005 and An End Has A Start in 2007).
Unfortunately, where Franz integrated the new musical components very well, Editors let it run wild and ultimately eliminate many of their strengths. The “all or nothing” approach which Editors have taken can literally be heard just seconds into their 3rd LP ‘In This Light and On This Evening’.
