Founded in 1909, Lower Canada College is a selective, independent, K through Pre-University (grade 12) day school. For most of its history, LCC has been a boys’ school, with coeducation in Pre-University since 1992. Since September 1995, LCC has been coeducational at all levels. In 2020–2021 girls constitute 43% of the school population.
Lower Canada College opens its doors for the first time on Monday, September 20, with roughly 100 students, many of whom are boarders. Charles S. Fosbery is the founder and first headmaster.
