Pese a esto, desde aquel remake lanzado para Nintendo DS en 2007 no hemos vuelto a tener noticias de la licencia. Con secuelas canceladas, proyectos que nunca salieron a la luz (aquel Diddy Kong Pilot para Game Boy Advance) y mucha mala suerte acumulada, los fans de esta marca vuelven a tener motivos para ilusionarse.

The game features a story mode, a multiplayer mode, and two characters who would eventually receive their own franchises, Banjo and Conker.

Diddy Kong Racing was re-released on the Nintendo DS in 2007, which is well after Rare was bought by Microsoft (although it sucked, shoehorned in a bunch of touchscreen nonsense and got rid of the silver coin challenges). If they were able to do that then, it's hard to imagine that they wouldn't be able to do another remake or NSO version today.
