The Flume is a natural gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. The walls of Conway granite rise to a height of 70 to 90 feet and are 12 to 20 feet apart. A trip into the Flume begins and ends at the Flume Visitor's Center. Guests can choose to walk through just the Gorge or do a two mile loop.

The early stages of its formation date to Jurassic times, around 200 million years ago, when the granite that makes up the walls of the Flume, then liquid and molten, was forced upwards to the earth’s surface.

23 de ago. de 2019 · The flume gorge is open from May 10th to October 20th. You definitely wouldn’t want to go in the winter anyways; those stairs would be insanely slippery. The typical hours are: 5/10-6/30 8:30am-5pm 7/1-9/2 8:30am-5:30pm 9/3-10/20 8:30am-5pm. We got there around 1pm and that seemed like the perfect time.
