  2. Case Discussion. Rounded filling defect within the left side of the bladder adjacent to the left VUJ. Feauters are of a ureterocele. Looking closely at the upper tracts you can see that both kidneys have duplicated collecting systems with dilated upper moieties (although both are partially cropped from the film). Duplicated collecting system ...

  3. 11 de sept. de 2023 · Weigert-Meyer law. With duplex kidney and complete ureteral duplication, the upper renal and lower renal moieties are drained by separate ureters, each having its own ureteral orifice in the bladder. Embryologically, duplication occurs when two separate ureteric buds arise from a single Wolffian duct (mesonephric duct).

  4. 12 de oct. de 2023 · In another 5% of cases, a blind ectopic ureterocele is similar to the sphincteric ureterocele but lacks a ureteral orifice. An uncommon type known as a cecoureterocele accounts for 5% of cases. In this variant, the orifice opens within the bladder with a long tubular ureteral extension or a blind pouch that extends into and beyond the bladder neck by tunneling into the submucosa under the trigone.

  5. Case Discussion. Ureterocele in children is usually associated with a duplex renal collecting system. Ureteroceles are often asymptomatic in adults and not associated with an anatomical deformity like a duplex collecting system. In symptomatic patients, surgery is often required, especially in obstructive uropathy cases.

  6. Case Discussion. Intravesical ureterocele, also known as "simple" or "orthotopic" ureterocele. There is a congenital prolapse of a dilated distal ureter into the bladder lumen. Considerably less common than the ectopic variety and is almost always confined to the adult population.

  7. Ureterocele, from the Greek (όυρητήρ and κήλη), literally means hernia of the ureter. It is the result of a congenital stenosis of the ureteral orifice and a concomitant weakness of the wall of the lower ureter so that there is a resultant ballooning of the terminal ureter into the bladder. This intracystic ballooning of the dilated ureter produces a characteristic defect on the ...
