Reinecke was born in Altona, Hamburg, Germany, at that time a Danish town. He studied with his father, Johann Peter Rudolph Reinecke, a music teacher. Carl began to compose at the age of seven, and his first public appearance as a pianist was when he was twelve years old. He undertook his first concert tour, in 1843, through Denmark and Sweden.

Brahms, en Altona un Barrio al Oeste del Estado Hanseático de Hamburgo, que en aquella época formaba parte del Ducado de Holstein,gobernado por el rey de Dinamarca, actualmente pertenece a Alemania. Nombrado en 1.848 pianista de la Corte de Cristian VII de Dinamarca.
Carl Reinecke. Carl Heinrich Carsten Reinecke ( Altona, avui districte d' Hamburg, 23 de juny de 1824 - Leipzig, 10 de març de 1910) va ésser un pianista, compositor i director d'orquestra alemany. És sobretot conegut per la seva Sonata per a flauta Undine, però també és recordat com un dels músics més influents i versàtils del seu temps.
