Abracadabra reached #1, and Stever Miller lost some fans for selling out and doing a musical style that was popular, but gained many more for it. In the early 80's, the Classic Rock format began to become popular, and Steve Miller's older hits were revived.

"Abracadabra" is a brilliant classic song from the '80s. What a marvelous hit for the Steve Miller band. That said, I'd be happy if the rest of the album could disappear. The songwriting is astonishingly bad, vocal lines are uneventful, and tempos are very similar. This is just a re-hashing of sameness.
