Las islas Salomón es un país insular situado en la región melanesia compuesto por más de 900 islas, que se dividen en dos archipiélagos principales: el archipiélago de las Salomón y el archipiélago de Santa Cruz. El primero de los archipiélagos es compartido con el estado de Papúa Nueva Guinea.
