Personally, I don’t think curves ≠ androgynous style. I don’t have time to look for links, but I know I’ve seen images of curvy women in androgynous styles. With curves, you won’t look “ambiguous”, but you can still look androgynous. (If you’re going for an ambiguous presentation, then yes - curves are an issue.)
