  4. 9 de nov. de 2016 · Piper at the Gates of Dawn is a masterpiece, and a major portion of that was composer, lyricist, singer and lead guitarist - Syd. However, with that album you don't get a sense of Syd Barrett as a person, but on The Madcap Laughs you strongly do. So that makes it all the more heartbreaking the downward spiral this man suffered.

  6. The Madcap Laughs would be recorded in 1969, with Roger Waters and David Gilmour along with Soft Machine helping out. His eponymous album appeared in late 1970. Soon Syd Barrett quit the music business entirely and became a virtual recluse. After this point, Barrett attempted a few returns to music, first recording a BBC session in 1971.
