  7. About Lucas Hnath. Lucas Hnath is an American playwright. He won the 2016 Obie Award for Excellence in Playwriting for his plays The Christians and Red Speedo. He is a resident playwright at New Dramatists. He currently teaches at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, from which he graduated with his BFA in 2001 and his MFA in 2002.
