About Hugh Auchincloss Steers. Hugh Auchincloss Steers was a painter whose work is in the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Walker Art Center, and the Denver Art Museum. He died of AIDS at the age of 32. Early life Steers was born in 1963 to Nina Gore Auchincloss and Newton Steers. He was the first of three children born to his parents.
Hugh Auchincloss Steers estudió en la Hotchkiss School de Lakeville, Connecticut y se graduó por la Universidad de Yale en 1985. His father, Newton Ivan Steers, Jr. (1917–1993), was a businessman and politician who briefly served as a Republican congressman from Maryland.Through his mother, Nina Gore Auchincloss (born 1937), he is a grandson of stockbroker and lawyer Hugh D.
