John Hick was born in 1922 [1] to Mark and Aileen Hick in Scarborough, England (Hick, 2002, 1-8). His ancestors owned a successful shipping company, though his grandfather had left the shipping business to become a solicitor. Hick’s Autobiography gives the impression that his parents also worked in sales.
