Freddie King. Frederick Christian King, artistnamn Freddie King (inledningsvis Freddy King ), född 3 september 1934 i Gilmer i Texas, död 28 december 1976 i Dallas i Texas, var en afroamerikansk bluesgitarrist och sångare som räknas som en av de största bluesgitarristerna. Freddie King. American blues guitarist and singer. Born September 3, 1934 in Gilmer, Texas, died December 28, 1976 in Dallas, Texas. He moved to Chicago, Illinois, in 1949. In 1956 he cut his first record as a leader. Later he was one of the first bluesmen to have a multi-racial backing band at live performances.

Texas's bluesman Freddie King became famous for his catchy instrumentals, such as Hide Away (1961), derived from a Hound Dog Taylor instrumental, The Stumble (1961), Lonesome Whistle Blues (1961), San-Ho-Zay (1961), I'm Tore Down (1961), and Driving Sideways (1962), but also penned the romantic ballad Have You Ever Loved A Woman (1961) and the exuberant Love Her With A Feeling.
