Werdegang. Al Stewarts Vater starb bei einem Flugzeugabsturz vor der Geburt seines Sohns. Al zog mit seiner Mutter in das südenglische Bournemouth, wo er bis 1962 die Schule besuchte.Während dieser Zeit lernte er Gitarre bei Robert Fripp, was ihm Auftritte als Mitglied einiger Bands seiner Heimatstadt ermöglichte.. Dann zog Stewart nach London, weil die Musikszene dort lebendiger war.

He is best known for his 1976 single Year of the Cat and its 1978 follow-up Time Passages (both produced by Alan Parsons).Stewart's inspiration for his songs primarily comes from the past; indeed, he is credited with creating his own genre, "historical folk rock".

La que hemos colgado es la versión corta. Al final, pueden escuchar la “full”, en vivo, grabada en 1979.
