John Foxx is an English singer, musician, artist, photographer, graphic designer, writer, teacher and lecturer. He was the original lead singer of the new wave band Ultravox, before leaving to embark on a solo career in 1980 with the album Metamatic. Primarily associated with electronic synthesizer music, he has also pursued a parallel career in graphic design and education.

John Foxx (né Dennis Leigh le 26 septembre 1948) est un chanteur, musicien, artiste, photographe, graphiste, écrivain et enseignant anglais.Il est le chanteur original du groupe Ultravox, avant de se lancer en 1980 dans une carrière solo.Principalement associé à la musique électronique, il a également poursuivi une activité parallèle en graphisme et dans le registre éducatif.

This Ultravox was not the four-piece band which hit number two in 1981 with “Vienna” but a quintet fronted by Foxx – who wrote or co-wrote all the band’s songs – which had come together in 1974.
