Johnny Thunders (15 de julho de 1952 – 23 de abril de 1991), pseudônimo de John Anthony Genzale Jr., foi um guitarrista, vocalista e compositor estadunidense de rock and roll/punk rock.. Ele foi bastante conhecido no começo dos anos 1970, por ser guitarrista da banda nova-iorquina The New York Dolls.Mais tarde, tornou-se integrante dos The Heartbreakers e, posteriormente, artista solo.

Thunders, newyorkilainen, amerikanitalialaisen perheen poika, aloitti rockuransa kouluikäisenä Johnny and the Jaywalkers -nimisessä yhtyeessä, jolloin hän kutsui itseään vielä nimellä Johnny Volume.
