Maurice-Alexis Jarre (French: ; 13 September 1924 – 28 March 2009) was a French composer and conductor. He composed the movie scores for Lawrence of Arabia (1962) and Dr. Zhivago . He also worked on The Train (1964), Mohammad, Messenger of God (1976), Lion of the Desert (1981), Witness (1985), Fatal Attraction (1987), and Ghost (1990).
Maurice Jarre es autor de algunas bandas sonoras célebres de la historia del cine como ‘Lawrence de Arabia’ (1962), ‘Doctor Zhivago’ (1965) o ‘Pasaje a la India’ (1984) entre otras. Con su melodía memorable, de todos es conocido cómo afrontó Jarre la composición de ‘Doctor Zhivago’ con una orquesta de 110 miembros con 24 balalaikas, y su inmortal tema; ‘Lara’s Theme’.
