The Self Same Thing was the first song of the new Dubstar era in Hove, Sussex.. When Dubstar played our ‘we’re back!’ gig in 2013 at The Lexington in London, this was the song I most wanted to redo the arrangement for. Dubstar are Sarah Blackwood and Chris Wilkie. Forming in 1993 and signing to Food / EMI Records in 1994, they released their hugely successful debut Disgraceful in 1995, which yielded the hit singles Not so Manic Now, Stars , and Anywhere. The albums Goodbye and Make It Better followed shortly after.
