The Wonder is a 2022 period psychological drama film directed by Sebastián Lelio. Emma Donoghue, Lelio, and Alice Birch wrote the screenplay based on the 2016 novel of the same name by Donoghue. Set shortly after the Great Famine, it follows an English nurse sent to a rural Irish village to observe a young 'fasting girl', who is seemingly able to miraculously survive without eating.
A man (Ben Affleck) and a woman (Olga Kurylenko) meet and fall in love in France, but after they move together to Oklahoma, they find that living together is harder work in director Terrence Malick's "To the Wonder". The film features a series of loosely connected scenes with stunning cinematography and little dialog.

La narración de To the Wonder, servida con elaborado montaje, viene acompañada de la certera voz en off de los personajes en distintos idiomas, subrayando la universalidad de lo propuesto, reflexiones interiores en el caso de Neil y Marina, oración angustiosa ante el silencio de Dios en el caso del padre Quintana, un acertado Javier Bardem, que evita cualquier exageración en el personaje.

Daartegenover staat wel een sublieme rol van Olga Kurylenko, die verfrissend natuurlijk speelt en medespelers Ben Affleck en Rachel McAdams er overtuigend uit acteert.
