5 de mar. de 2014 · Alfred Burke was a terrific British character actor, best known for his portrayal of ‘Frank Marker’ in the UK TV series “Public Eye” which ran for ten years from 1965 until 1975. He was very effective as the trade unionist in “The Angry Silence” in 1960 and featured in ” Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”.

ITV crime drama series Public Eye, created by Roger Marshall, followed the cases of down market private detective Frank Marker (superbly played by Alfred Burke). It began life on ABC picked up by Thames following the 1968 franchise changeover.
Alfred Burke was born on the 28th of February, 1918. He was famous for being a TV Actor. English actor best remembered for his decade-long role private detective Frank Marker on the series Public Eye. He also appeared as Major Dieter Richter in Enemy at the Door from 1978 to 1980 and acted in films like Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Alfred Burke's part was huge. He was perfect for the part. This inspired casting was the work of director Don Leaver. Very humbly he said, "I just say the words," and "the interesting people were always the other characters" but he offered so much more than that. When speaking about the show he has always been very insightful.
