Circus Vase — DAN DAILEY. Although there are a great variety of shapes within the series, I see these pieces as an offshoot of classic form, similar to my other work with the vessel. Because of the nature of symmetry in a turned, blown object, the elements all follow some historic precedent. 161 pieces • 1995 – present.

American visual artist Dan Dailey has simultaneously produced sculpture and functional art with an emphasis on lighting since 1970. Made primarily from glass and metal, every piece of work begins with a drawing. Dailey's drawings and the objects they inspire depict human character and the world we inhabit, with many familiar forms rendered iconic.
